Pain as Human Rights Defender, Mama Victor is swept by Nairobi floods.

MATHARE: The Human Rights Community in Nairobi is mourning the tragic loss of one of its members, Ms. Benna Buluma, affectionately known as Mama Victor. She served as a convener of the Mother of Victims and Survivors Network, an organization dedicated to advocating for police accountability.

According to a press briefing by Happy Olal, Ms. Buluma and her family were tragically trapped by floodwaters in Mathare yesterday. As of now, three bodies, including hers, have been recovered from the submerged house, while three others remain missing.

The heavy rains have wreaked havoc in numerous parts of the country, including Nairobi and the neighboring Machakos County.
