Kidero mourns one of his bodyguards killed in Homa Bay County.

OYUGIS: Former Nairobi Governor Dr. Evans Kidero is mourning one of his bodyguards who was murdered in cold blood at his home in Oyugis, Homa Bay County.

The former city boss described Evans Okoda as one of his security details when he contested the Homa Bay County gubernatorial seat, which he lost to Gladys Wanga.

“Following the brutal murder of Mr. Evans Okoda in the wee hours of this morning at his residence compound in Oyugis Town, Homa Bay County, I urge the authorities to investigate this crime and bring its perpetrators to justice,” he wrote on his Facebook account.

He lamented that the sudden killing of Okoda is sending shivers through the rest of his team and called on the police to speed up investigations.

“His brutal murder has created a cloud of fear that must be properly addressed. This heinous act has sent a chill down the spine of many residents in Homa Bay County and raised the specter of violence,” added the former county boss.
