The body of a Kirinyaga businessman who had been missing since his vehicle plunged into the flooded Sagana River over a week ago has been recovered. Kenya Defence Forces divers successfully retrieved the body, which was then transported to the mortuary.
The officers retrieved the body from the mud which had covered the vehicle too after nine days of search.
Samuel Kamau Kagwanja, the owner of Chakaka Hotel in Sagana, was known as a devoted family man who always prioritized his family in everything he did. Despite the efforts of local divers initially, the search for the missing tycoon was taken over by the Kenya Defence Forces.
The recovery of Samuel’s body now provides his family with the opportunity to arrange for his interment and find closure. The body has been transferred to the Kirinyaga County mortuary, where a post-mortem examination will be conducted as the police launch investigations.
Samuel was last seen at Laibon Gardens in Murang’a County on May 2, driving a Nissan pickup to meet a friend.
