UK Methodist Church President visits appreciates efforts by local Ugunja church, Kenya.

The President-elect of the Methodist Church of the United Kingdom, Rev. Helen Cameron, emphasized the crucial role of quality education as the cornerstone of holistic development.

During her visit to Kenya, Rev. Cameron addressed the students of Nyasanda Community High School in Ugunja, urging them to pursue academic excellence.

“It is my sincere belief that the educational opportunities afforded to students will not only shape their own futures but also contribute to the growth of the local community and the nation at large,” remarked Rev. Cameron.

In addition to her focus on education, Rev. Cameron lauded the efforts of the local church in providing essential healthcare services to the community through St. Paul’s Methodist Health Center in Ugunja.

“I find it both inspiring and rewarding to witness the local church’s commitment to providing basic healthcare, recognizing that the essence of salvation in Jesus includes healing,” she added.

The Management Committee, led by Chair Charles Ogada and Clinician-in-Charge Wilberforce Juma, highlighted the challenges they face in delivering optimal healthcare due to limited resources.

“While we strive to deliver the best possible healthcare services, our efforts are constrained by the scarcity of resources. Nonetheless, we are gratified to see the community benefiting from our services,” Mr. Ogada acknowledged.
