Sad state, a youth and a minor lynched for stealing a cow in Busia.

BUSIA: A minor, who was subjected to mob injustice in Bumala, is currently recuperating and in unstable condition.

He sustained deep cuts on his fore head and broken some other parts of his body.

According to investigations done by the police from Sega Police station, the minor was together with another suspect who was pronounced while receiving treatment.

The duo was allegedly caught stealing a cow from a homestead when they were accosted by members of the public who began beating them mercilessly.

They have been identified as Victor Omondi Nyimbo  aged 22 and the minor aged 14 years.

“The police found both being beaten by members of public at Uganji area Bumala sub location within Busia county after they had stolen one cow belonging to Nicholas Odhiambo who is also a resident of Uganji village within Bumala sub location which he had tethered outside his compound to graze. Nicholas saw them taking the said cow and raised an alarm prompting people to beat them and they were also stripped naked,” stated the police in their report.

They were rescued and escorted them to St. Anne’s Sega mission hospital having deep cut wounds on their heads and Victor was pronounced dead while undergoing first aid.

The other victim is being attended to but in unstable condition.
