Police save three suspects from mob in Ugenya

UGENYA: Police officers intervened to rescue three individuals who faced mob justice after allegedly being caught stealing from a shop in Lifunga, Doho West sub-location.

Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement officials discovered that a shop owned by Fredrick Odhiambo had been unlawfully entered through a breached wall.

Brian Odhiambo Omondi, aged 26, was identified as the perpetrator, having gained entry by creating a hole in the wall.

Omondi faced the wrath of the crowd and sustained injuries to his right leg, right palm, and upper lip as a result of the mob’s actions.

Subsequently, he disclosed the names of his alleged accomplices, Francis Ochieng and Nicholas Otieno.

Members of the public located the two suspects and brought them to the shopping center.

Francis Ochieng also endured injuries to his right arm, nose, and back during the ordeal, while Nicholas Otieno emerged unscathed.

All three individuals were transported to Siaya County Referral Hospital for medical treatment before being returned to Ukwala, where they are set to face charges before the Ukwala Magistrate Court.
