Police Officer arrested transporting bhang in Kilifi County

KILIFI: Yesterday, a police officer was apprehended while transporting several kilos of bhang across Sabaki Bridge in Kilifi County.

A multi-agency team stationed at the Sabaki Bridge vehicle checkpoint intercepted a Toyota Probox en route to Lamu. Upon halting the vehicle, the officers instructed the passengers to disembark along with their belongings. During the subsequent search, a suitcase belonging to a 25-year-old male, identified as Abderahman Kassim Hussein, yielded significant findings.

Among the contents discovered were five cello-taped packages containing dry marijuana.

“During the search of Mr. Abderahman Kassim Hussein’s luggage, five cello-taped packages of suspected cannabis sativa were uncovered. Additionally, a certificate of appointment naming him as Police Constable Abderahman Kassim Hussein was found. Further investigation revealed that the suspect serves as a police officer attached to the GSU, stationed at MINJILA in Tana River County,” stated a police incident report obtained by Kondele News.

Subsequently, the suspect was placed under arrest and escorted to Malindi Police Station for further questioning.
