Two form four candidates involved in a road accident after school sent them home for fee

MIGORI: Seven people sustained injuries after a matatu vehicle they were travelling in veered off the road and landed in a ditch at Katuoro in Migori town.

According to the police in Migori Police station, the matatu that was driven by one Fredrick Ochieng had passengers heading towards Awendo town direction.

“On reaching at the location of the accident, he lost control of the said vehicle and landed in a ditch.  Several passengers were injured and rushed to different hospitals for treatment,” read a police incident report.

Among the seven were two form four students from Ulanda Girls Secondary School who were going home for school fees, both of them were form four candidates. They were treated and discharged. The driver is admitted in the same hospital in serious condition. Vehicle towed to station pending inspection and further police action
