ODM leader Raila Odinga has responded to a message from a young lady who was protesting on the streets today against the Finance Bill 2024.
The young Gen Z activist, who has been trending, sent a heartfelt message to the ODM leader, urging him to refrain from participating in street demonstrations and to allow her and other youths to take charge.
In his response, Mr. Odinga, the opposition leader, expressed joy, noting that the young people have embraced the responsibility of defending their rights.
On his X handle Mr Odinga wrote; “I’m a very proud father today! Hongera sana to the young lady and all those who bravely stood up for their rights!”
Today’s protest was primarily led by youths, civil society groups, human rights defenders, and journalists.
Several individuals were arrested, with many expected to remain in custody at Central Police Station.
