Salim Swaleh, former NTV and Citizen TV journalist arrested

Salim Swaleh, the Director of Press at the office of Prime CS Musalia Mudavadi, has been arrested along with others on suspicion of assisting fraudsters in defrauding foreigners, according to Peter Warutere, Secretary of Strategic Communication at the same office.

This is not the first time Swaleh has faced legal issues. Years ago, during his tenure at Royal Media Services, he was allegedly involved in leaking confidential audio recordings to Mike Sonko, then Nairobi Governor.

Upon discovery, he resigned hastily from his position. Subsequently, he joined NTV, where he worked until September 2022.

After leaving NTV, he served as a Chief Officer in the Nakuru County Government before transitioning to his current role at the newly established office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary.
