Shock and pain as a mysterious fire burns all animals at a homestead in Gem Yala

GEM YALA: Police in Gem Yala Sub-County are investigating a bizarre incident in which a cowshed burned down with all its animals inside.

The incident occurred yesterday at Murumba Village in Malanga Sub-Location, leaving a family devastated after losing animals valued at thousands of money.

The fire was first noticed by a passerby who spotted flames engulfing the cowshed as he passed by the home.

“He saw the cowshed on fire and immediately raised the alarm. Neighbors rushed to help extinguish the fire. The shed is a permanent structure secured with a steel door.”

The cause of the fire remains a mystery as the cowshed is located several meters away from the main house. Despite efforts by villagers to break into the shed, they were unable to rescue any of the animals from the inferno.

“They managed to break in, but unfortunately, all the animals had already perished in the fire. Their efforts to save the animals were in vain,” the witness reported.

Initial investigations by the police have confirmed that seven cattle and nine sheep were lost in the fire. The scene has been processed and documented, but the exact cause of the fire remains undetermined.
