Comedian Eric Omondi brought laughter to the burial ceremony of his brother, Fred Omondi, today.
The event, attended by a crowd of young people, content creators, and politicians, was filled with humor and warmth throughout.
ODM party leader Raila Odinga, alongside Siaya Governor James Orengo, praised Eric Omondi for his resilience during this time of mourning.
Governor Orengo invited Eric to manage the remainder of the burial proceedings, including introducing Mr. Odinga to the podium, turning the somber occasion into a light-hearted comedy show.
Eric started by humorously welcoming all the women who may have children with his late brother.
“Any lady who had a child with my brother, please know that you are welcome. Let us know, and we’ll support in raising the child,” he quipped.
He playfully teased the local MCA, Bernard Adala, stating that children who resemble Adala might not be as welcomed. This remark elicited laughter from the mourners.
Highlighting his brother’s career as a comedian who brought joy to many, Eric expressed that it was an honor to see people laughing at the burial instead of being sorrowful.
