Nine people lost their lives on Saturday evening in a horrific road accident involving a Toyota Hiace Matatu at Ratili area along the Narok-Bomet road.
Two others are currently undergoing treatment at the Longisa County Referral Hospital, where they were rushed for medical care.
According to Narok County Police Commander Riko Ngare, the accident was caused by a tire burst.
“The driver of the Narok Safaris Shuttles Limited matatu, which was transporting passengers from Narok to Bomet, lost control of the vehicle after one tire tire burst. The vehicle then veered off the road and rolled several times, resulting in the deaths of nine individuals on the spot,” noted the sub-county police boss.

They have sustained injuries to their head, chest, and other parts of their bodies. We are doing our utmost to stabilize them, but their condition remains critical,” the nurse disclosed.
