Kalonzo in, Raila out as Azimio-One Kenya leadership changes.

Kalonzo Musyoka has been chosen to lead the Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition, replacing Raila Odinga, who is now campaigning for the African Union Commission (AUC) chair position.

In a statement read by Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni, the coalition expressed gratitude to Odinga for his leadership since the coalition’s formation.

“We want to thank our leader Raila Odinga, who has led our coalition successfully. We wish him luck as he prepares for his continental duties,” said Kioni.

Kioni announced that Kalonzo Musyoka would take over the coalition’s leadership while Odinga focuses on his AUC campaign.

The coalition officially released Odinga from his duties to allow him to concentrate on his new quest.

Regarding the nomination of four ODM members to the cabinet, the Azimio coalition maintained that it had not sanctioned such a move.

The coalition emphasized that the four members joined President Ruto’s cabinet as individuals, not with the coalition’s approval.

Azimio expressed disappointment at President Ruto’s actions, calling it “cannibalism” that goes against the Kenyan constitution and the recommendations by the National Dialogue Committee (NASCO).
