Two suspects, Jama Hirbo and Tasu Hirbo, are in custody after attempting to bribe officers from the Transnational Organized Crime Unit at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters with Sh50,000.
The duo were apprehended in the Huruma area of Nairobi County while trying to bribe the officers to secure the release of human trafficking victims held at Isinya Police Station in Kajiado County.
The bribe attempt was thwarted by the vigilant officers, leading to the immediate arrest of the suspects.
Jama and Tasu Hirbo have been booked at Muthaiga Police Station as investigations continue.
The seized bribe money will be used as evidence in the case, underscoring the DCI’s commitment to combating corruption and human trafficking.
