In Bar-Agulu, a somber cloud descended upon the community yesterday as news of a tragic accident spread like wildfire.

The heartbreaking incident involved young Oscar Onyango Owino, a nine-year-old boy with mental challenges, whose life was tragically cut short after an unfortunate mishap.

According to a detailed police report obtained by Kondele News, the young boy met his untimely demise after slipping into a borehole.

The incident, which occurred in the Bar-Agulu sub-location, has left the family and the entire community in deep sorrow.

“National Police Service officers promptly visited the scene, about 6km southeast of the station, where they found the lifeless body of Oscar Onyango Owino,” the report stated.

It further stated, “The boy, who had been missing since the previous day, was discovered floating in the borehole by the area chief and concerned villagers around 10:00 AM.”

Further investigations revealed that Oscar, last seen near Peace Maker Church in Nyandiwa sub-location at approximately 11:30 AM on August 4th, was tragically found the following day.

As the village mourns this unimaginable loss, Oscar’s body has been transported to Siaya County Referral Hospital.
