Four Coast guard officials who capsized in Lake Victoria rescued

The search operation for Coast Guard officials who capsized in Lake Victoria bore fruits after the four were saved by a rescue team.

The four are currently recuperating in one of the hospitals within Kisumu.

The officials were on their way yesterday from Mageta Island in Siaya County to Kisumu County when their boat met with disaster.

The Coast Guard team had attended a t function held in Mageta Island, presided over by President William Ruto.

The boat is reported to have capsized near Ndere Island in Kisumu County, a serene spot now overshadowed by this heartbreaking event.

Witnesses and local authorities describe a sudden shift in weather conditions that may have contributed to the boat’s capsizing.

The waters, usually calm, became treacherous, leading to the tragic accident.

As the search and rescue mission unfolds, the community holds its breath, hoping for a miracle. Divers, local fishermen, and rescue teams are working round the clock, leaving no stone unturned in their efforts to find the missing officials.

Stay tuned for more updates as the situation develops.
