YATTA: A family in Machakos County is mourning the loss of their 9-year-old son, who allegedly drowned in a fish pond.
Police confirmed that the incident occurred in Mamba A village, Ndalani, within Yatta Constituency.
The Grade Four pupil reportedly accessed the keys to the gated fish pond without his parents’ knowledge.
Area chief Cosmas Kaloki stated that locals from Mamba sub-location retrieved the body. It has been taken to Mbaku Funeral Home in Matuu, where it awaits a postmortem examination. Meanwhile, police have launched an investigation into the matter.
