Pain after a student committed suicide in Bomet County

Chepalungu: A dark cloud of grief and sorrow hangs over Chepalungi village, Bomet county after a. 17-year-old form three student died in what police believe to be suicide.

According to the police, the day scholar student may have intentionally thrown himself into a dam, leading to his death.

The Kiproroget secondary school student had been sent home to collect school fees, only for his body to be discovered floating on the dam moments later.

The Chepalungu police chief Phantom Analo while confirming the incident said that the body was discovered by members of the public.

“Police officers were informed by members of the public who were passing near the dam and saw the body floating,” said Analo.

The body has been moved to Longisa hospital mortuary awaiting autopsy to determine the real cause of his death.
