Police in Tharaka Nithi are investigating the death of a watchman at Kathanthatu Day Secondary School in Nkuene, South Imenti.

The tragic incident occurred last night, leaving another watchman with severe injuries.

Senior Assistant Chief Joseph Muthuri confirmed the incident, stating that the injured watchman is receiving treatment at Nkubu Consolata Mission Hospital.

According to Muthuri, suspected thieves broke into four school offices, making off with valuables of unknown value.

Blood stains found on the school grounds indicate a struggle between the thieves and the watchmen.

Police have launched an investigation and are urging anyone with useful information to come forward to help solve the case and bring the perpetrators to justice.
