Gem MP, Elisha Odhiambo, is the ODM patron and will participate fully in elections…Ogam Maramba

GEM: Gem Constituency Manager Ogam Maramba has refuted rumors that the area lawmaker Elisha Odhiambo is no longer an ODM member, assuring that Odhiambo will not be barred from voting.

Maramba dismissed the claims, which were propagated by former North Gem MCA Nick Ochola, affirming that the current leaders remain listed in the party register.

“I want to tell the people peddling lies that some of us, including the Member of Parliament, were suspended from the party—that is not true. I am the ODM treasurer and my name is still in the register, and Mr. Odhiambo, who is the MP, is the patron,” said Maramba.

He further explained that the suspension notice presented before the tribunal was rejected with costs against the Oranga party officials, ensuring their membership was never affected.

“I want to tell people like Nick Ochola, who is my good friend, that if he wants to be the party chairman, he is free to seek election beginning from the grassroots, which is the polling station. Let him stop imposing himself,” Maramba added.

This clarification comes as the ODM party plans to hold grassroots elections tomorrow. Gem and Bondo constituencies are anticipated to face challenges during the polls, given that their MPs had shifted their allegiance from Raila Odinga to President William Ruto before the formation of the broad-based cabinet that included Odinga.
