Nanny Arrested in Naivasha in connection to Employer’s Murder

NAIVASHA: Detectives in Naivasha Sub-County have arrested Mary Chebet, a 30-year-old nanny, in connection with the brutal murder of her employer, Jane Wambui Njoroge.

The arrest came after Njoroge’s husband, a resident of the Karai area, reported his wife missing on July 4, 2025.

Jane Wambui Njoroge, who worked at Naivasha Sub-County Hospital, had reportedly left her workplace to head home and wasn’t seen again.

Investigations quickly focused on Chebet as the prime suspect. During interrogation, she led officers to the victim’s home in Karai.

There, she revealed the horrific discovery: Njoroge’s body was buried in a shallow grave behind the house.

Public health officers assisted in exhuming the decomposing body, which was found with pieces of clothing tightly wrapped around the victim’s neck.

Chebet is currently in custody as detectives complete their investigation before her arraignment.
