Charles Odhiambo;Former Homa Bay Chief of Staff Appointed Director of Media in Kisumu County

Former Homa Bay Chief of Staff Charles Odhiambo, who was previously demoted over alleged misconduct, has been appointed Director of Media in the office of the Kisumu County Governor.

Odhiambo takes over from Lennox Omondi, who had served in the role since Professor Anyang’ Nyong’o assumed office from former Governor Jack Ranguma.

A seasoned journalist with years of experience, Mr. Odhiambo returns to the public eye and to his professional roots in media and communication.

His dismissal from Homa Bay County came through a circular issued by Governor Gladys Wanga’s office, following what was widely reported as an incident of alleged indecent conduct that tarnished the county’s image.

Mr. Odhiambo officially began his new role this week and is expected to work closely with journalists based in Kisumu County.

He joins another veteran journalist, John Oywa, who currently serves as a Chief Officer in Governor Nyong’o’s administration.
