Police Arrest Seven Suspected Gang Members in Kutus Crackdown

KIRINYAGA: A major police operation in Kutus town on September 12, 2025, led to the arrest of seven suspected gang members and the seizure of various weapons and tools.

Officers from Kirinyaga East and Mwea East sub-counties conducted the crackdown in the Maisha Kamili area, where the suspects were reportedly hiding.

During the raid, police recovered housebreaking tools, knives, and pangas.

The suspects were taken into custody and are being processed for arraignment in court to face charges related to their alleged criminal activities.

In a statement, the National Police Service (NPS) reaffirmed its commitment to continuing such operations to dismantle criminal gangs and enhance community safety.

The NPS also urged the public to continue providing actionable intelligence, stressing that collaboration between security agencies and citizens is crucial in the fight against crime.
