Muhoozi Vs Bobi Wine, online wars after election

General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, son of veteran Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni and Chief of Defence Forces, has issued a 48-hour ultimatum for opposition leader Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine) to surrender to the police.

The ultimatum follows reports that Bobi Wine fled his residence two days ago after a police and military raid, during which a military helicopter was seen hovering over his home. In a statement on social media, Muhoozi responded to a defiant message posted by Bobi Wine from an undisclosed location.

In his post, Bobi Wine stated: “You ordered the raid on my house to harm me! I beat you at your own game and escaped. To cover up the shame, you claimed no one was looking for me. Here you are now, seized by fear and panic, confirming your wicked plot against me. I will resurface when I decide. Then you and your father can do whatever you want to me. But make no mistake—YOU WILL NEVER ESCAPE THE INEVITABLE CONSEQUENCES OF YOUR ATROCITIES AGAINST THE PEOPLE OF UGANDA.”

In response, General Muhoozi indicated: “I exonerate my great and vulnerable father from what I’m going to do to Kabobi [Bobi Wine]. As for Kabobi, the permanent loser, I’m giving him exactly 48 hours to surrender himself to the police. If he doesn’t, we will treat him as an outlaw/rebel and handle him accordingly.”

The army chief did not specify the exact charges or the reason for the original raid on the musician-turned-politician’s residence.
