KIBERA: A 47-year-old father, identified as Norman Swahili, is in police custody following the defilement and fatal assault of his nine-year-old daughter in Kibra, Nairobi.

The tragedy unfolded on September 6, 2026, when officers at Kibra Police Station received a distress call reporting that Swahili was severely beating the child.

Police, alongside members of the local community policing team, responded to the scene, only to find that the suspect had already rushed his critically injured daughter to Mbagathi Hospital.

Upon arriving at the medical facility, officers learned that the nine-year-old had been pronounced dead on arrival.

A preliminary medical examination revealed severe signs of physical violence, including multiple bruises, widespread swelling, and a freshly dislodged upper tooth, alongside clear evidence of sexual assault.

The child’s body was transferred to the Nairobi Funeral Home, where it is being preserved pending a full postmortem examination.

Swahili remains detained at Kibra Police Station while detectives finalize their investigations ahead of his formal arraignment.
