My brother was sick for 45 years, may the Lord grant him rest.

ICT Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo has revealed that his late brother, Jackson Owalo, who passed away on May 27, had been on antibiotic drugs for 45 years.

Mr. Owalo, while eulogizing his departed brother, described Jackson’s life as a testament to strength and resilience amidst suffering.

Jackson, an electrical engineer, faced numerous health complications before his passing last month.

“My brother epitomized true strength. He had been on antibiotics from 1979 due to ill heath until last week when he passed away,” stated the ICT boss.

Despite enduring immense pain and discomfort due to his health issues, Jackson never wavered in his determination to live.

“Few of us could have endured what he did before his passing. It was the will of the Lord that Brother Jack was called to rest,” added Mr. Owalo.

Former Rarieda Member of Parliament, Eng Nicholas Gumbo, also emphasized Jackson’s resilience.

“When we entered Nairobi University, he was already in his third year despite his health challenges. I recall our engineering department head praising his perseverance and urging us to strive for excellence,” shared Eng Gumbo.

Jackson Owalo, who died at 65, was laid to rest at the family’s home in Gangu, Rarieda sub-county.

A devout member of Nomiya Church, his funeral service was conducted by the same church founded by his grandfather.
