Shock as a witness collapses and dies in a Bondo Magistrate Court

Police and the DCI in Bondo have launched investigations into the sudden death of a witness in a land case.

According to a police incident report recorded at Bondo Police station, the deceased identified as Charles Obonyo collapsed while testifying in a land succession case.

“Charles Obonyo of unknown age collapsed while testifying regarding a land succession matter matter in court at about 1200hrs today,” read the statement seen by Kondele News.

“Family members who were present in court are reported to have rushed the subject to a medical facility using the family’s private car. Following the incident, a follow up was done at the Bondo sub-county hospital but there were no records regarding the incident. It was later established that the family took their kin to Bama outpatient facility and upon confirmation that the subject was dead,” the report further stated.
