Celebrated comedian Eric Omondi was arrested today by anti-riot police officers patrolling the streets of Nairobi.
He was dressed in striking red attire with a matching beret, leading a group of youths in a peaceful protest. Mounted on a horse, he passionately voiced anti-government slogans, quickly drawing a crowd to join in.
As tensions rose and the crowd swelled, the police intervened, apprehending Omondi and escorting him to the Parliament Police station.
This unexpected turn comes amid Omondi’s absence from recent public engagements, as he has been home in Ugenya, preparing for his brother’s burial.
His brother lost his life in a car accident just last week. The funeral arrangements are currently being finalized to honor his brother’s memory at their ancestral home in Ugenya, Siaya County.
