Martha Karua, Azimio running mate faults police over the Kware bodies

Narc-Kenya party leader Martha Karua has questioned the discovery of numerous dismembered bodies following police brutality during anti-Finance Bill protests on June 25.

Speaking on KTN News, Karua criticized the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) for quickly addressing the press without any forensic evidence.

“Why are we having officers coming to the press like the DCI to tell us that the bodies discovered in the quarry were the work of a serial killer dating back to 2020 without waiting for forensic evidence to tell us how old the bodies were? she posed.

The senior counsel also questioned why there has been no shake-up of the police force, especially senior officers, despite Generation Z pointing out atrocities committed against them by the police.

According to the Kenya National Human Rights Commission (KNHCR), 50 youths have lost their lives in the peaceful youth-led demonstrations.

Karua suggested a cover-up of police brutality at the city mortuary, where victims of gunshot wounds are being registered as accident victims.

Charles Owino, who was allegedly shot dead in Kitengela during anti-government protests July 17, was recorded as an accident victim, according to his family.
