President William Ruto has appointed Dr. Julius Migos Ogamba to replace former Education CS Ezekiel Machogu.
This decision marks a notable shift from two years ago when Dr. Ogamba served as the running mate to Mr. Machogu during his UDA-backed campaign for the Kisii gubernatorial seat.
Among the initial eleven nominees, four former CSs were omitted from the new list. Dr. Ogamba now assumes a position that would have been his superior’s had Mr. Machogu succeeded in his bid for governorship.
The first batch of nominees will undergo approval by the National Assembly, with additional nominees expected to be included in the coming weeks.
President Ruto emphasized ongoing consultations aimed at forming a broad-based cabinet, stating, “We shall continue consulting as we finalize the cabinet formation.”
