In a moment of profound determination and hope, Erick Muuga, the youngest and least wealthy nominee for the Ministry of Water, pledged to uphold accountability and integrity if confirmed by Parliament.
Muuga, who has amassed a fortune of Sh 31 million, shared his impressive journey from humble beginnings to becoming a seasoned professional in water resources engineering.
Starting as an intern and climbing the ranks to the position of consulting engineer, Muuga’s dedication is evident.
With a Master’s Degree in Water Resources Engineering from the University of Nairobi, Muuga brings eight to nine years of experience in water and sanitation to the table.
“Throughout my career, I have worked at various levels, primarily in the private sector, and engaged with stakeholders in water development projects,” he explained.
His career trajectory has seen him evolve from an intern to a design engineer, and he currently serves as an assistant resident engineer and, at times, as an assistant project engineer.
Muuga is also a registered professional engineer with the Engineers Board of Kenya and a corporate member of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya.
Driven by a deep-seated passion for ensuring every Kenyan has access to clean water—a fundamental human and constitutional right—Muuga’s commitment to this cause remains unwavering.
“My goal is to bring this essential resource to every corner of Kenya, leveraging my experience and dedication,” he stated.
As Muuga stands poised to potentially lead the Ministry of Water, his story is a testament to perseverance, expertise, and an unwavering commitment to public service.
