GEM: Siaya County MP Christine Ombaka now wants the CS for health Susan Nakhumicha to resign over prolonged doctors’ strike which has lasted over one month.
She said that health practitioners have genuine concerns that affect them.
“Doctors have serious concerns which the government is taking little or no interest in. Therefore, if she cannot listen to the doctors’ issues then she should resign because Kenyans cannot continue to lose lives under her watch,” she said.
Dr. Ombaka who spoke during an ODM Gem branch delegates meeting in Wagai accused the government of being careless, saying that the doctors’ strike could have been arrested a long time ago if their grievances were taken seriously.
The lawmaker regretted that Kenyans are currently dying of diseases which can easily be managed and treated if the doctors’ issues are addressed.
