A man climbs a booster threatening to commit suicide in Voi

Voi town awoke to a disturbing scene Tuesday morning when an unidentified man climbed a mobile phone booster mast in the heart of the CBD and refused to come down, despite desperate pleas from both police and witnesses.

The “booster man” was first spotted around 6:00 a.m.

It is suspected that he climbed the mast during the night, with witnesses alleging he was attempting to commit suicide.

When pleas from bystanders fell on deaf ears, the Taita Taveta County fire department was called to assist.

They arrived swiftly and devised a plan to rescue the man.

After a tense operation, the fire department successfully brought him down. He was then taken into custody for questioning at the Voi police station to determine the motive behind his actions.
