Four family members die mysteriously in two weeks

A village in Ugenya, Siaya County is dumfounded after four family members die in mysterious circumstances in less than two weeks.

Three family members, the mother, son and husband died within three days while the last born died a week before shortly after being born.

A neighbor of the family said that the woman, who was expectant, delivered a baby who died a day after his birth.

Five days later, the woman also died under unclear circumstances. She allegedly bled too much after child birth, though the autopsy report has not been made public.

According to the family’s neighbor, the ten-year-old boy woke up feeling unwell, but did not make it to sunset.

Shocked and distressed by the sudden loss of his wife and son, the husband also fell ill, exhibiting similar symptoms as his son just a day after his son’s death.

He was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

The entire has now been deserted leaving only two children: the man’s first child with his first estranged wife and  his diceased wife’s daughter.

The villagers are speculating the cause of the deaths to be not adhering to cultural practices and regulations, others think they were poisoned while others believe they were bewitched or cursed.

No medical report has been released, confirming the cause of death of the four family members.

The bodies were all buried on November 1.
