Arne Slot gets his first Manager of the Month Award since joining Reds

Arne Slot has earned his first Premier League Manager of the Month award since taking over as Liverpool head coach, following an undefeated streak in the division during the period.

The Dutchman guided Liverpool to three consecutive victories, starting with a hard-fought 2-1 comeback win against Brighton & Hove Albion at Anfield.

He then led the Reds to a commanding 2-0 home victory over Aston Villa before securing a dramatic 3-2 turnaround against Southampton on the road.

Slot’s stellar month saw him beat Brighton’s Fabian Hurzeler and Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Gary O’Neil to the coveted prize.

Speaking about the recognition, he highlighted the connection between success on the pitch and the award.

“It’s always nice to win something because it means you have won a lot of games, and that is by far the most important thing. Winning a trophy like this is the result of winning games – and that’s what I like most.”

The Liverpool boss emphasized that the award is a testament to the collective effort of his players and staff.

“It’s a team effort because we win a lot, and that’s not just due to the players but also the staff and the programme we have. My staff and players put in a lot of effort to improve daily. It doesn’t work every day, but we try every day.”

Slot also credited the medical and performance teams for their role in maintaining player fitness, citing Alisson Becker’s recent recovery as an example of their impact.

“It’s not only the technical staff – it’s the performance staff, the medical staff. Ali [Alisson Becker] gave compliments about the medical staff as well, for how much they helped him to come back fit. It’s a team performance, not only from the players but definitely also from our staff.”

With this accolade, Slot’s Liverpool have set a high benchmark for consistency and performance as they continue their campaign.
