A Champion for Local Soccer: Eliud Owalo Steps Up for Kisumu All Stars

KISUMU: Deputy Chief of Staff Eliud Owalo has demonstrated his commitment to nurturing sports talent by providing sponsorship to Kisumu All Stars Football Club.

The support includes a donation of uniforms and other essential materials.

During the presentation event at Kisumu Day, Owalo reflected on the club’s significant past, noting its historical role as a key supplier of players to prominent Kenya Premier League teams like Gor Mahia.

“Kisumu All Stars was a hub of talents in those days,” stated Owalo. “Many players who joined Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards clubs were from Kisumu All Stars. If we work very hard, we shall revive the club.”

Addressing the current Division One status of the team, he offered words of encouragement: “Don’t be discouraged that you are still playing in division one. I like your dedication and I will strive to support where I can.”

The Kisumu All Stars management had previously highlighted operational challenges, including transportation for away fixtures. Responding to this, Owalo pledged to mobilize further assistance.

“I will talk to my friends around Kisumu city, the companies and the institutions to sponsor the club in whatever way possible. It is possible to rise and play in the premier league. Never get discouraged,” he affirmed.

Mr. Owalo concluded by encouraging Kisumu Day School to work towards a strong performance in the upcoming season.
