A man arrested with marijuana seeds ready to plant in Bondo, Siaya


BONDO: Police in Siaya have apprehended a man suspected of cultivating a large quantity of marijuana in Bondo sub-county.

The individual, identified as Milton Odera, aged 35, was detained inside a house situated on a sprawling 30-acre property in Usire village, within West Sakwa location in Bondo sub-county.

According to a police incident report, Odera was arrested within the confines of his residence, which is enclosed by a chain-link perimeter fence.

Upon conducting a search of the suspect’s house, law enforcement officers discovered assorted cans filled with seeds believed to be cannabis sativa.

Further investigation extended to the extensive estate, comprising farmland and forested areas, but no mature marijuana plants were found. Odera has been taken into custody pending legal proceedings.

In a separate incident in Nairobi, authorities apprehended an individual suspected of orchestrating the transportation of marijuana from Migori County to Nairobi.

The suspect, identified as Ouma, was arrested in Utawala in possession of 50 bags of marijuana weighing 1624kg, with each bag containing 130kgs of the substance.
