KISUMU: Police officers have arrested eight suspects following a highly coordinated, overnight sting operation within Waithorego Sub-Location.
Acting on intelligence, the officers launched the raid late yesterday evening and maintained their operation into the early hours of this morning, successfully flushing the suspects out of their hidden dens.
The eight individuals are believed to have been heavily involved in a string of recent burglaries and robberies with violence that have plagued the local community.
During the crackdown, law enforcement also managed to recover a large haul of assorted suspected stolen goods and contraband from the hideouts. Among the confiscated items were: one 42-inch television set, three sub-woofers, several mattresses, and one complete 6 kg Meko gas cylinder

In a more alarming twist, police also uncovered items that suggest a dangerous level of tactical preparedness, including a military combat sword, smoke military pouches, and jungle green uniforms, alongside twenty rolls of cannabis sativa.
The suspects are currently being held at the Gita Police Station, while the recovered exhibits have been placed in secure custody.
The individuals are currently awaiting final processing and are scheduled to be arraigned in court this coming Monday to face charges.
