GEM: Police in Gem Wagai sub-county are currently investigating an incident where an unidentified man was attacked and beaten on suspicion of stealing a motorcycle.

According to Assistant Chief of Wagai West sub-location, Fredrick Samo, members of the public noticed the unknown man and immediately started assaulting him, believing him to be one of the notorious motorcycle thieves.

The police quickly responded to the scene and managed to rescue the man from the mob that had overwhelmed him. However, he sustained severe head injuries during the ordeal and was promptly transported to Yala Sub-county Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
