Reflecting on President William Ruto’s ambitious goal of planting 15 billion trees within a decade, Kuria urged the public to embrace and support this initiative to assist the Head of State in achieving the set target.

Addressing the residents of Siaya, Kuria commended their efforts thus far, noting their current tree cover of 0.4 percent.

He underscored the objective of reaching a 30 percent tree cover by 2032, coinciding with his aspirations for the presidency. He expressed his vision for a future where ample tree cover would be a reality by the time he assumes office.

Kuria’s ambition to vie for the presidency introduces another contender from Mount Kenya into the political arena, potentially shaping discussions on the succession plan following President Ruto’s term.

Alongside Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Kiharu lawmaker Ndidi Nyoro, and Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungwa, Kuria emerges as a prominent figure among the potential successors to the sitting president from the Mountain.
