Four Kenyan Police officers arrested in Tanzania.

Four police officers have been detained in Tanzania after being discovered in the country without proper documentation.

The officers, identified as Joel Osinya, Moses Wainaina, Josephat Mungania, and Moses Kiongera, were apprehended by authorities from Tarakea Police Station in Tanzania.

According to the Buruburu DCI, the officers were in pursuit of a motor vehicle theft syndicate and inadvertently crossed into Tanzanian territory without realizing it.

“They were tracking a motor vehicle theft syndicate from Nairobi to Tanzania and unintentionally entered Tanzanian territory without awareness. They were accompanied by a suspect named Samuel Ngatia, who is associated with motor vehicle theft,” stated the DCI.

Also detained alongside them are their suspect, Samuel Ngatia, and a Tanzanian individual who has been implicated in receiving stolen motor vehicles from Kenya.

Despite efforts by the DCI Kajiado South, accompanied by Officer Illasit, to negotiate for the release of the officers, their attempts have been unsuccessful, and the officers have been transferred to Rombo Mkuu District headquarters.
