Pain as five people die in a grissly road accident.

Tragedy struck on Saturday morning when a 14-seater matatu collided with a truck at Migaa in Nakuru County, resulting in the death of five individuals.

Nakuru County Police Commander Samuel Ndanyi reported that the matatu was en route from Eldoret to Nakuru when the accident occurred at 3:30 am on the Eldoret-Nakuru highway.

The victims comprised four women and one man, while eight others sustained serious injuries and were promptly transported to Nakuru Teaching and Referral Hospital for treatment.

“Currently, eight individuals are undergoing treatment at Nakuru Teaching and Referral Hospital. The deceased have been taken to Nakuru County mortuary,” stated Mr. Ndanyi.

Both vehicles involved in the collision have been towed to Salgaa Police Station for inspection.
