The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has detained Stephen Ogenga, Director of the National Industrial Training Authority, over suspicions of irregularly awarding a tender valued at 28.4 million during the 2017/2018 financial year.

In addition to Ogenga’s arrest, his wife, Elizabeth Achieng, has also been detained for allegedly obstructing EACC officials during the investigation process.

The tender in question pertained to the supply, installation, and maintenance of sewing and training machines, which was awarded to M/S Xponics Limited for a contract sum of Sh28,411,620.
