Police Constable collude with thugs to hijack a lorry ferrying rice

KIBWEZI: A police officer colluded with five other individuals to hijack a lorry transporting bags of rice from Mombasa to Nairobi.

The officer, identified as Police Constable Francis Mutiso, along with the five suspects, intercepted the lorry at Thange area.

They then abandoned the driver at Ngwata before driving the lorry to an undisclosed location.

Following a manhunt, the police and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) managed to apprehend Constable Mutiso, Jude Kandie, and John Musingi inside a Probox model car.

The Probox car has been impounded.

According to the driver, the lorry was carrying 522 bags of rice, each weighing 25kg.
