Voters from Bondo constituency flooded Bondo town today to protest against their Member of Parliament, Gideon Ochanda, for supporting the Finance Bill 2024.
The crowd, visibly upset, marched for hours while carrying a symbolic small casket labeled “Gideon Ochanda.”
The demonstrators demanded that the MP relocate to Sugoi, President William Ruto’s hometown.
They ignited bonfires and shouted slogans denouncing Ochanda, who was elected on an ODM ticket but later switched allegiance to President Ruto, a move that has sparked resentment among the local populace.
Ochanda is one of the few Azimio la Umoja allied lawmakers who aligned themselves with the government in voting for the bill.
