HOMA BAY: Siaya governor James Orengo made the first appearance in Karachuonyo, Homa Bay County at the burial of the former Karachuonyo lawmaker Dr Phoebe Asiyo.
Donned in his satin flowered shirt, black pants and dark sun glasses, the Siaya boss walked into the crowd causing stir.
At the time of his entrance, the host governor Gladys Wanga was making remarks; the stir forced her to stop her speech temporarily as Orengo settled down.
Orengo’s arrival comes at a time when he had gone missing for close to two months from the public site.
A section of Siaya residents had began asking questions with some presenting petitions before the senate, EACC, Siaya County assembly and the executive department.
Orengo’s appearance cast aspersion as to whether rumours of his ill health were hot air; he was full of life contrary to insinuations that he was in the ICU.
“Some people were saying I was gone, I am not going anywhere, I am here to stay,” thundered the gentleman from Ugenya, amidst ululations.
“An Orengo nyatieng, Orengo kidi, Orengo Nyawawa koreka aroch,” loosely translated as, “I am Orengo the stone, the spirit. This is the time I am at my peak”, he a said as the crowd cheered him.
