Okiya Omtata blasts Raila Odinga calling him a “political prostitute”

Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah has sharply criticized former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s recent political maneuvers, describing them as “political prostitution.”

In a widely circulated video, Senator Omtatah minced no words in his disapproval of Raila’s decision to endorse dialogue with President William Ruto.

“This level of greed and political opportunism is unacceptable. Engaging in such political prostitution might have been tolerated in the past, but it should find no place in the new, more enlightened political landscape,” declared Omtatah.

He further lamented that Raila seemed to prioritize personal gain over the welfare of the people, questioning whether Raila genuinely had the nation’s best interests at heart.

“Raila appears to be more concerned with satisfying his own desires than demanding justice for the children who lost their lives,” Omtatah remarked.

Earlier, leaders of the Azimio la Umoja coalition, including Raila Odinga and President William Ruto, had advocated for dialogue as a means to address Kenya’s current challenges.

However, this stance drew criticism from younger generations, particularly Generation Z, who expressed skepticism about engaging with the government.

The coalition’s co-principals distanced themselves from the dialogue initiative, with Narc-Kenya leader Martha Karua labeling it a potential trap.

In a recent interview on KTN News, Karua emphasized that any decision by Azimio la Umoja to join the government would be seen as a betrayal, given the government’s perceived culpability in recent tragedies.

“Why would anyone seek to align with a regime whose hands are stained with the blood of our children? Our youths did not perish so that others could secure positions of power,” Karua stated emphatically.
