UGUNJA: A tragic accident near Simenya along the Kisumu-Busia highway has claimed the life of a motorcyclist and left his pillion passenger with severe injuries.

The collision involved a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle belonging to the Bungoma Line shuttle service, headed towards Kisumu.

According to a police report, the Nissan Matatu was traveling from Busia when the oncoming motorcycle collided with it head-on.

The motorcyclist was killed instantly, while his passenger was rushed to Ambira Sub-County Hospital in critical condition.

The body of the deceased was also taken to the hospital’s morgue for preservation.

Both vehicles, severely damaged in the crash, were towed to Ugunja Police Station for inspection.
