MP Salasya lectures Raila Odinga after removal from house committee

Mumias East MP Peter Salasya has launched a scathing attack on former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, accusing him of self-interest and political deception following his removal from parliamentary house committees.

Salasya, a first-term lawmaker elected under the Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K), criticized Odinga for allegedly prioritizing personal gain over the interests of his supporters.

“He is deceiving us that he is consulting the people, yet he is only looking out for himself. We, the people of Western Kenya, are tired of him, and he should stop misleading us,” Salasya declared.

Dismantling ODM Influence in Kakamega

Salasya further vowed to dismantle the dominance of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party in Kakamega County before the 2027 General Elections.

Let it be known that we will end the influence of the Orange party in Kakamega. ODM will no longer dictate our region’s political direction,” he affirmed.

The MP also accused Odinga of manipulating his supporters into street demonstrations, allegedly for personal negotiations with President William Ruto.

We traveled across different counties organizing protests, only to realize later that we were being used to advance one person’s interests at the expense of ordinary Kenyans,” he lamented.

Despite his removal from house committees, Salasya maintained that his ability to serve his constituents remains unaffected.
